Mass Integrated Systems (MIS) was founded in 2002 in response to the emergence of Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs) as the prominent display format and the continued growth of the Integrated Circuits (ICs) market. MIS’ founder, Eric Primack, helped start an independent stocking distribution firm in 1995, but wanted to focus more on the LCD market, which led to his starting MIS with Steve Cavanaugh and Sue Zappala. MIS is headquartered in scenic Newburyport, MA, ~35 miles due north of Boston, MA with its Asia office in Shanghai, China. Management Eric Primack is the Founder and CEO of Mass Integrated Systems. Under Eric’s guidance, MIS has grown revenues an average of 50% annually since the company’s inception in 2002. As a result, MIS was recently selected to Entrepreneur Magazines’ 2007 Hot 500, http://www.entrepreneur.com/Hot500/Details/423.html, as one of the fastest growing businesses in America. Prior to MIS, Eric co-founded and was President of International Component X-Change (ICX). Eric graduated with a BSME from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1985 and attended graduate school in engineering at Northeastern. Steve Cavanaugh is Vice President, Sales for Mass Integrated Systems. After running his own restaurants in Boston, Steve joined ICX in 1997 and left with Eric in 2002 to start MIS. Steve graduated with a BS in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1986. Sue Zappala is Vice President, Finance and Administration for Mass Integrated Systems. Sue started working at ICX in 1996 as the Controller and followed Eric and Steve to MIS. Prior to getting involved in the electronic component industry, Sue worked in both the automotive and insurance industries. |
